PETALING JAYA: Steel Hawk Bhd
has appointed Haffiz Hussin as its group chief executive officer with immediate effect.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the oil and gas company said Haffiz succeeds Afizul Md Yusoff (47), who has resigned.
“Afizul made the decision to step down from his role in order to take a career break and devote time to focus on his personal interests,” said Steel Hawk.
Meanwhile, Haffiz, 40, served as head of construction-based engineering for Petroliam Nasional Bhd (PETRONAS) from September 2024 to November 2025.
Haffiz was responsible for technical shaping, techno-digital solution lifecycle orchestration, solution performance and value realisation.
From April 2016 to August 2024, he served as PETRONAS’ senior construction and project engineer.
Here, he was responsible for supporting technical reviews, coordinating updates to construction specific procedures and fabrication documents, as well as gathering data for alignment and opportunity framework sessions.
From April 2013 to March 2016, Haffiz served as resident engineer, senior project and package engineer for PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd.
