MGB bags RM201mil Penang project

MGB said the contract is expected to contribute positively to its earnings and net assets per share over the duration of the contract.

PETALING JAYA: MGB Bhd has accepted a letter of award from Lien Dak Builders Sdn Bhd for the proposed development of centralised labour quarters in Seberang Perai Selatan, Penang, for RM200.74mil.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the civil engineering and construction firm said the contract duration is for 24 months, with the commencement and completion dates still “to be advised”.

MGB said the development will be done over two phases.

“The contract will increase and enhance the existing order book of the company and its group of companies.

“With the contract in hand, the group’s current outstanding order book is of approximately RM1.29bil.”

MGB said the contract will have no effect on the issued share capital of the company, but it is expected to contribute positively to its earnings and net assets per share over the duration of the contract.
