Ringgit opens firmer vs US$ as rate-cut expectations grow


KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit opened firmer against the US dollar on Friday, supported by sustained optimism over a potential shift in US monetary policy and improving sentiment toward emerging-market currencies.

At 8 am, the ringgit strengthened to 4.1230/1335 against the greenback from yesterday’s close of 4.1305/1345.
