Mah Sing’s DC plans face obstacles

The agreement was intended for the joint venture development of data centre facilities and infrastructure within the Mah Sing DC Hub @ Southville City.

PETALING JAYA: The exclusivity period of the second collaboration agreement between property developer Mah Sing Group Bhd’s wholly owned subsidiary Southville City Sdn Bhd and Bridge Data Centres Malaysia VII Sdn Bhd has lapsed.

Mah Sing said in a filing with the stock exchange that the exclusivity period of the collaboration agreement entered into on Oct 28, 2024 lapsed on Oct 28, 2025.

The agreement was intended for the joint venture development of data centre (DC) facilities and infrastructure on approximately 14.44 ha of land within the 60.7 ha Mah Sing DC Hub @ Southville City, located in Bangi, Selangor.

“Mah Sing is seeking the continuation of the data centre project since the land is strategically located in Bangi, Selangor, offers excellent connectivity to Kuala Lumpur and major highways, as well as ready access to power, water, and high-speed telecommunications infrastructure, and we will continue to explore potential joint ventures, build-to-lease arrangements, or outright land sales with interested data centre operators,” it said.
