Malakoff in Mitsubishi Power deal


KUALA LUMPUR: Malakoff Corp Bhd has signed a reservation agreement with Japan’s Mitsubishi Power Ltd to secure advanced gas turbines and generators for its planned 1,400MW combined-cycle power plant.

Malakoff said in a statement that the agreement marked a significant milestone in its efforts to deliver high-efficiency, lower-emission energy solutions in line with Malaysia’s national energy transition agenda.

The agreement, which was executed on Oct 10, covers the procurement of M701JAC gas turbines and gas turbine generators.

Malakoff group chief executive officer Syahrunizam Samsudin said that by obtaining access to the advanced M701JAC gas turbine technology, the company is reinforcing its focus on innovation, energy security and long-term sustainable growth. —Bernama
