Pekat Group bags RM86mil EPCC contract

The group said the contract is expected to contribute positively towards the future earnings.

KUALA LUMPUR: Pekat Group Bhd’s indirect wholly owned subsidiary, Pekat Solar Sdn Bhd, has secured an engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning contract worth RM85.68mil from a company.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, the company said the contract is for the design, engineering, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning of a 63MW alternating current large-scale solar photovoltaic energy generating facility in Kulai, Johor.

It noted that the main contractor is incorporated in Malaysia and, due to a confidentiality clause in the contract, the company is unable to disclose its identity.

“The contract shall commence on the date the main contractor issues the notice to proceed and is scheduled for completion with the takeover by May 31, 2026.

“The contract is expected to contribute positively towards the future earnings, earnings per share and net assets per share of Pekat and its subsidiaries (Pekat Group) for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2025, until the expiry of the contract,” it said. — Bernama
