KUALA LUMPUR: Private Pension Administrator Malaysia (PPA) has appointed Taufiq Iskandar as its new CEO, succeeding Husaini Hussin who had helmed the organisation since 2016.

Taufiq began his career at Permodalan Nasional Bhd as an investment analyst. He subsequently held senior positions, including director of research and director of equity at Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (KWAP), CEO of Penjana Kapital Sdn Bhd and executive director of VCAP Asset Managers under the ValueCap Group.

"Taufiq’s deep expertise and commitment to developing a vibrant capital market place him in a strong position to propel PPA to greater heights.

"I am confident that he will strengthen PPA’s role as the central administrator for the Private Retirement Scheme (PRS), while further advancing the PRS industry and the broader financial retirement planning ecosystem," said PPA chairman Datuk Tengku Aizan Tengku Abdul Hamid in a statement.

PPA is the central administrator for the private retirment schemes (PRS) in the country. It is a body approved by the Securities Commission to protect PRS members’ interests and educate the public on the schemes.

There are currently nine PRS providers offering a choice of 79 retirement funds, supported by more than 28,000 PRS consultants nationwide.
