Pansar bags RM217mil highway job

PETALING JAYA: Pansar Bhd has received a letter of acceptance from Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) Sarawak for the design and construction of the proposed Serian-Gedong-Samarahan dual carriageway highway from Simpang Gedong Isthmus to Simpang Lubok Teranggas, worth RM217mil.

In a filing, the marine and industrial products supplier said the project involves the upgrading of 4km of the existing JKR R3 road from the Jalan Lubok Teranggas to Kampung Gedong – currently a two-lane single carriageway – into a JKR R5 four-lane dual carriageway.

“The scope also includes the construction of a new connecting road to Package 1 (Simpang Rayang/Munggu Kopi/Tanah Puteh/Sebemban to Gedong District – Section 1B), as well as the provision of an autonomous rail transit reserve within the median, bridge works, bicycle tracks, utility corridors, a new roundabout, and the installation of road lighting, traffic lights, road furniture, signage, and drainage systems.”

The contract is expected to contribute positively to the group’s earnings and net assets as the project progresses over the 36-month period, commencing this month.
