CIMB Singapore CEO resigns


CIMB Group said its group CEO Novan Amirudin will now oversee growth markets as acting CEO.

PETALING JAYA: CIMB Group Holdings Bhd announced that its chief executive officer (CEO) Victor Lee Meng Teck for growth markets and CEO of CIMB Singapore, has resigned to pursue other opportunities and will be placed on leave with immediate effect.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, CIMB Group said its group CEO Novan Amirudin will now oversee growth markets as acting CEO while Andrew Boey, CIMB Singapore’s chief financial officer, will step in as officer-in-charge of CIMB Singapore to assume day-to-day leadership responsibilities, to ensure continued progress and stability.

Lee started his career with CIMB Group in January 2019 when he was appointed CEO of group commercial and transaction banking before helming CIMB Singapore in January 2020.

Novan commented that Lee has been instrumental in transforming and institutionalising CIMB Singapore for continued sustainable success.
