Moody’s affirms Khazanah’s A3 rating, maintains stable outlook


KUALA LUMPUR: Moody’s Ratings has affirmed Khazanah Nasional Bhd’s A3 long-term issuer rating and baa3 Baseline Credit Assessment (BCA). The outlook remains stable.

In a statement, the rating agency said it has also affirmed the A3 senior unsecured rating on bonds and the (P)A3 senior unsecured rating on the US$10bil guaranteed global medium-term note (MTN) programme of Khazanah Capital Ltd.

It affirmed the A3 senior unsecured rating on the sukuk and the (P)A3 senior unsecured rating on the US$5bil sukuk programme of Khazanah Global Sukuk Bhd, as well as the A3 senior unsecured rating on trust certificates of Dua Capital Ltd. The outlook remains stable.

"The ratings affirmation reflects our expectation that Khazanah will continue to pursue a conservative financial strategy, maintain stable leverage, and benefit from strong access to funding, underpinned by its strategic role and close ties with the Government of Malaysia," said Maisam Hasnain, a Moody's Ratings vice president and senior credit officer.
