FBM KLCI flirts with 1,600 level, ends just below key mark

KUALA LUMPUR: The FBM KLCI briefly broke above the 1,600-point level before paring gains to close below the psychological threshold.

The 30-stock index rose 4.6 points, or 0.29%, to 1,597.47 — its highest close since mid-February — after touching an intraday high of 1,603.19. For the week, it gained 21.13 points, or 1.34%.
