ITMAX posts stronger 2Q results, eyes growth in smart city expansion

KUALA LUMPUR: ITMax System Bhd, which recorded a 20.4% rise in net profit for the second quarter ended June 30 (2Q25), said it remains cautiously optimistic about the group’s outlook.

“The group is looking to continue its growth by expanding its service offerings and expanding into other geographical territories and segments.

“While the group continues to deliver on its ongoing project and plots its mid and long-term growth, inflationary pressures remain as threats to the local and global economy,” ITMAX said in the notes accompanying its financial results.

In 2Q25, the group posted a net profit of RM23.1mil, or 2.23 sen per share, bringing first-half profit to RM43.2mil, or 4.18 sen per share, up 16.2%.

Quarterly revenue rose 9.8% to RM58.4mil, lifting 1H25 revenue 10.2% to RM109.2mil.

Managing director/chief executive officer William Tan Wei Lun said the group made significant strides in the first half of 2025, particularly in Johor, where its presence continues to expand, while also securing new smart parking contracts with two Selangor councils.

He said these achievements are expected to enhance revenue visibility and operational scale going forward, adding that Malaysia’s smart city landscape remains in the early phase of transformation.

“We believe this offers tremendous long-term potential, supported by government initiatives that prioritise digitalisation and infrastructure modernisation.

“With a strong foundation, a proven track record, and continued investment in innovation, we are confident in our ability to scale and play a leading role in shaping Malaysia’s smart city future,” he said in a separate statement.
