Malique Sidique appointed as officer-in-charge of Maybank Islamic

KUALA LUMPUR: Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) has appointed Malique Firdauz Ahmad Sidique as officer-in-charge (OIC), group CEO, Islamic Banking, and CEO of Maybank Islamic Bhd (MIB), effective Aug 1, 2025.

Malique currently serves as chief financial officer, group islamic banking, and head of group performance reporting. In his new role, he will report directly to the president and group CEO.

In a statement, Maybank said Nor Shahrizan Sulaiman, the current OIC, Group CEO, Islamic Banking and CEO of MIB, has decided to pursue other professional interests outside the group.

Maybank said the process to identify a new CEO for MIB is progressing well, and the group will make an announcement once the necessary approvals are obtained.

Malique will take on the day-to-day management of MIB in addition to his current duties, until a new CEO, MIB is appointed.
