Sunway REIT appoints Ng Bee Lien as acting CEO

PETALING JAYA: Sunway Real Estate Investment Trust (Sunway REIT) has appointed Ng Bee Lien (52) as its acting chief executive officer (CEO), with effect from June 16.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Sunway REIT said its current CEO, Chen Kok Peng (42), has resigned to take up the position of chief financial officer (CFO) at Sunway Bhd.

Sunway REIT said Ng will assume the role of CEO on an interim basis until a suitable candidate is identified and appointed.

“Ng will concurrently retain her existing position as CFO of the company during this interim period.

“Ng has more than 25 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting, strategic planning, investment evaluation and investment evaluation across a variety of industries including property investment, engineering and infrastructure projects where she held various financial positions.”

Ng started her career as an auditor with Ernst & Young from 1994 to 1997. Thereafter, she joined Muhibbah Engineering (M) Bhd in 1997. Subsequently Ng joined Sunway Construction Group in 2005 and spearheaded Sunway Construction Group Bhd to its public listing in 2015.
