Bursa Malaysia appoints Azizan Abd Aziz as new CFO

KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia Bhd has appointed Azizan Abd Aziz as its new chief financial officer (CFO), starting from Aug 1, 2025.

He replaces Rosidah Baharom, who had stepped down from the CFO position after 11 years in May, citing "personal interests" as the reason for her resignation. In her absence, Rasmona Abdul Rahman, Bursa Malaysia's executive vice-president of group finance and corporate finance, has been the acting CFO.

In a statement, the stock exchange said Azizan comes into the role with more than 20 years of experience in finance, accounting, corporate finance and advisory.

Azizan will oversee Bursa Malaysia’s overall finance function, including financial and management reporting, corporate planning and budgeting.

Prior to joining Bursa Malaysia, Azizan served as group CFO for Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd

Other past senior roles include merger and acquisition partner at Deloitte Southeast Asia Ltd.; and KPMG’s Financial Services Division in the UK and Malaysia.

“We look forward to Azizan joining the Exchange. His extensive experience and financial acumen will be instrumental in continuing to strengthen Bursa Malaysia’s operational efficiency and strategic endeavours, working collaboratively with our leadership team as we navigate an increasingly dynamic market landscape,” said Bursa Malaysia CEO Datuk Fad’l Mohamed.
