KUALA LUMPUR: AEON Bank has integrated MyTentera ID into its digital banking app's electronic know-your-customer (eKYC) verification process, allowing eligible Malaysian armed forces personnel to open accounts using their military identification.
In a statement, the country’s first digital Islamic bank said the integration enables armed forces personnel of all ranks with a valid MyTentera ID to verify their identity securely during the onboarding process.
“This latest integration comes ahead of Hari Pahlawan and it reaffirms AEON Bank's commitment to provide inclusive, convenient and customer-centric solutions for Malaysians,” it said.
Customers can download the AEON Bank app, complete the verification process and activate a Savings Account-i remotely.
Once onboarded, they will have access to the bank's suite of Shariah-compliant products and services, including the AEON Bank x Visa Debit Card-i, Term Deposit-i, Savings Pot, DuitNow QR, Zakat, Takaful, JomPAY and utility bill payments.
They will also have access to Neko Missions, the bank's gamified digital banking rewards programme, and Neko Sensei, its artificial intelligence-powered personal financial coach.
The bank said it would continue to strengthen its digital capabilities and introduce Shariah-compliant banking solutions while supporting the growth of Islamic banking and Malaysia's digital economy.
