Walkability is a necessity

When considering a neighbourhood for future stay, what are some criteria to check off? Safety is always the priority, followed by perhaps the demographics of the current residents. Being near schools, hospitals and other amenities is a plus point as well.

However, many neighbourhoods today, particularly older ones, have a real head-scratching issue. They are simply not walkable.
