SEREMBAN: Sime Darby Property Bhd has launched its Vision Business Park (VBP) in Negeri Sembilan, with a projected gross development value (GDV) of RM2.4 billion.

In a statement today, the company said the 307.6-hectare park is the latest industrial development under Malaysia Vision Valley 2.0 (MVV 2.0), which is poised to create approximately 15,000 job opportunities and support Negeri Sembilan’s economic growth.

"The project aligns with the state’s economic vision of attracting RM294 billion in investments and creating 600,000 jobs.

"VBP is also part of a strategic step in realising the phased development of MVV 2.0, which spans 153,416 hectares in Negeri Sembilan,” it said.

Sime Darby Property said it has developed over 2,428 hectares in the state and is now expanding its footprint through industrial development in Southern Nilai.

"VBP is a key step in our commitment to industrial development and supports Negeri Sembilan’s economic transformation.

"As a future-ready industrial hub, VBP will attract businesses, create jobs, and strengthen the state’s position as a centre for industrial growth,” said group managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Seri Azmir Merican.

He said that building on the success of Hamilton Nilai City, which has been operational since 2021, VBP will support the growth of light and medium industries, driving innovation and expansion.

According to the statement, VBP would feature an 80:20 industrial-to-commercial ratio, offering 252.1 hectares for industrial opportunities and 55.4 hectares for commercial activities, catering to businesses of all sizes.

"The development offers a comprehensive industrial ecosystem, including ready-built factories, industrial plots, shop offices, and research and development centres designed to support the growth of businesses.

"Its clustered master plan promotes business synergies, complemented by centralised facilities such as dedicated workers’ quarters and centralised heavy vehicle parking to enhance operational efficiency,” it said.

Sime Darby Property said the park benefits from direct access to the Nilai-Labu-Enstek Road (NLE), providing seamless connectivity to key industrial and logistics hubs such as Nilai Inland Port, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), and KLIA Terminal 2.

"The NLE connects VBP to the North-South Expressway, improving logistics efficiency for both regional and international trade,” the company said.

The VBP’s groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday was officiated by Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun. - Bernama
