KJTS unit wins chilled water plant project for Thai resort


KUALA LUMPUR: KJTS Group Bhd's subsidiary in Thailand, KJTN Engineering Co Ltd, has been appointed the contractor by Central Hua Hin Beach Resort Co Ltd for the chilled water plant improvement project at the five-star Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin in Hua Hin, Thailand.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, KJTS said the contract came under a finance, retrofit, operation, maintenance and transfer (ROT) scheme for a duration of 20 years.

Under the deal, KJTN Engineering shall finance the retrofit works amounting to THB194.98mil (RM25.3mil) for Phase 1, and THB15.52mil for Phase 2.

KJTN Engineering will charge a monthly fixed fee of THB1.47mil and THB1.56mil upon the completion of Phases 1 and 2 respectively, as well as a monthly variable fee based on the chilled water supplied.

The total fixed fee over 20 years will be THB372.56mil.

The retrofit works shall commence on April 4, 2025, with Phase 1 expected to be completed on May 31, 2026, and Phase 2 to be completed 24 months after.

The O&M Services and chilled water supply

will commence on June 1, 2026, and is expected to be completed by May 31, 2046.
