Salcon secures water treatment plant project

PETALING JAYA: Salcon Bhd has secured a RM167mil contract from Pengurusan Aset Air Bhd for the construction of a new water treatment plant, raw water pipeline and related infrastructure in Melaka.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Salcon said the project encompassed the construction, completion and commissioning of a 1,200mm diameter raw water main pipeline and a water treatment plant with a capacity of 90 million litres per day.

“Work will commence upon site possession, with completion targeted within 30 months.”

The contract would strengthen its portfolio of infrastructure projects and is expected to contribute positively to the group’s earnings and net assets for the financial years ending Dec 31, 2025 and beyond. It was secured via its wholly-owned subsidiary, Salcon Engineering Bhd.

The contract reaffirmed Salcon’s expertise in water infrastructure development, the company added.
