HSS Engineers signs solar PPA with TNB to build 95MW solar PV plant

KUALA LUMPUR: Unique HEB Energy Sdn Bhd, a special-purpose joint venture vehicle incorporated by HEB Energy Bhd and Unique Green Energy Sdn Bhd, has signed and executed a solar power purchase agreement (PPA) with Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB).

HEB Energy is a wholly-owned subsidiary of HSS Engineers Bhd.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, HSS Engineers said that under the PPA, Unique HEB shall design, construct, own, operate and maintain a solar photovoltaic energy generating facility with its approved capacity of 95 megawatts of alternating current at Hilir Perak, Perak.

"The PPA governs the obligations of the parties to sell and purchase the energy generated by the facility for a period of 21 years from the commercial operation date, in accordance with the agreed terms and conditions as stipulated in the PPA,” it said.

HSS said the PPA is expected to contribute positively to the revenue, earnings and net assets of the group for the financial years ending Dec 31, 2027, to Dec 31, 2048.

"The board of directors, after considering all the relevant factors, is of the opinion that the acceptance of the PPA is in the best interest of HSS Engineers group and is a critical step forward, aligning with the group’s strategic objectives,” it said.- Bernama
