QSR Brands, Hy-Fresh in poultry supply partnership

PETALING JAYA: QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd has entered into a strategic partnership with Hy-Fresh Holdings Sdn Bhd to strengthen its upstream integrated poultry business.

In a statement, QSR Brands noted that Hy-Fresh has been a key poultry supplier to its downstream business since 2011.

It said the partnership will further enhance growth for both parties, leveraging on Hy-Fresh’s expertise, resources and market presence to improve the supply of poultry to QSR Brand’s KFC and Pizza Hut restaurants. QSR Brands will remain a strategic shareholder in the upstream integrated poultry business.

QSR Brands chairman Tan Sri Jamaludin Ibrahim (pic) said achieving economies of scale through partnership and collaboration is key in staying ahead in today’s very competitive landscape.

“Through this strategic partnership, we are combining the strengths of two industry leaders to achieve that objective and deliver superior products to serve the rakyat.

“We believe our core business, QSR Downstream, will strongly benefit from the involvement of an experienced poultry operator with significant expansion plans.

“QSR Brands will remain involved in the combined business, with KFC and Pizza Hut stores continuing to be its largest customers,” he said in the statement.
