MACC ends investigation into IJM chairman

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has completed its investigation into IJM Corp Bhd non-executive chairman Tan Sri Krishnan Tan, with no further action to be taken.

In a statement, IJM said the MACC has confirmed that no further prosecution action will be taken and that the matter has been categorised as No Further Action (NFA) in relation to investigations concerning the voluntary take-over offer by Sunway Bhd.

Separately, Tan said he welcomes the decision, noting that he had maintained his innocence throughout the ordeal.

"The investigations and publicity given thereof has caused me severe reputational damage and undone what has been a lifetime of public and corporate service, caused immense strain on my family, friends, and the organisations I serve- to all of whom I am grateful, especially my wife and family and dear friends, for standing by me," he said in a personal statement.

"I now want to put this difficult period behind me and move on."
