Bursa suspends short selling of Hartalega, Kossan shares


KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia has suspended intraday short selling (IDSS) of Hartalega Holdings Bhd and Kossan Rubber Industries Bhd for the rest of the day after a sharp drop in their share prices.

Hartalega tumbled 20.29% or 69 sen to RM2.70, while Kossan fell 16.6% or 39 sen to RM1.96 as of 4:11 pm.

Bursa Malaysia said the suspension was triggered after the stock dropped more than 15% per or 15 sen from the reference price.

“The short selling under IDSS will only be activated the following trading day, Wednesday, Feb 19 at 08:30 am,” Bursa Malaysia said.

Earlier, Hartelaga announced that its net profit fell to RM19.51mil in the third quarter of its 2025 financial year, down from RM22.38mil in the year-ago quarter. Earnings per share retreated to 0.57 sen from 0.66 sen previously.

This was despite revenue coming in at RM738.19mil, a jump up from RM415.64mil in the comparative quarter, as sales volume surged 73% year-on-year (y-o-y).
