MMAG's unit acquires second Boeing freighter from JPA for RM29mil

KUALA LUMPUR: MMAG Holdings Bhd has announced that its subsidiary MJets Air Sdn Bhd has entered into an instalment sale agreement to purchase a second Boeing B737-400SF aircraft from JPA for US$6.55mil (RM29.12mil).

This is MJets Air's second B737 purchase from JPA in recent months. On Dec 24, 2024, MJets Air announced it had purchased and taken delivery of a Boeing B737-400SF aircraft from JPA.

According to MMAG's filing with Bursa Malaysia, the second aircraft to be purchased from JPA is currently being leased and operated by MJets Air for its air freight business.

MMAG said the aircraft purchase is a strategic move that will deliver long-term benefits to the group.

"By acquiring the aircraft, the group gains greater control over its fleet, enhancing operational autonomy and flexibility.

"This decision aligns with the group's broader strategy to optimise its air freight capabilities and streamline operations across its supply chain network," it said.
