GDB bags RM298mil logistics warehouse contract in Klang

KUALA LUMPUR: GDB Holdings Bhd via its wholly-owned subsidiary Grand Dynamic Builders Sdn Bhd has secured a RM298mil design-and-build contract from SDPLOG 1 (Industrial Asset III) Sdn Bhd to construct a logistics warehouse in Klang, Selangor.

In a statement, the construction services firm said the project, Metrohub 4, is the second logistics warehouse it is building for SDPLOG, following the completion of Metrohub 1 in Bandar Bukit Raja 2 Industrial Park in August 2024.

The job scope encompasses the design, construction, testing, and commissioning of a proposed two-storey warehouse (two blocks with a mezzanine level on each floor), a single-storey amenity building, and supporting buildings.

The warehouse will have a total built-up area of about 153,120sqm, and will feature loading bays with dock levellers and roller shutters. The amenity building will include a staff cafeteria and office space.

The 20-month contract is slated to commence on Dec 23, 2024, and is scheduled to be completed by Aug 22, 2026.

"As our third major project win this year, it highlights our continued growth and strong performance in the Malaysian construction sector.

"The project, our second with the esteemed joint venture, further strengthens our track record and showcases our expertise in delivering high-quality, sustainable industrial developments," said group managing director Cheah Ham Cheia.

GDP said the win brings its outstanding orderbook to RM1.4bil, which gives it a strong pipeline until December 2026.
