TM signs agreement with Radian Arc to boost cloud gaming, computing infrastructure

SEOUL: TM Malaysia Bhd (TM) continues to fulfil the demands of the gaming industry by strengthening its cloud gaming and edge computing infrastructure with the signing of a services agreement with Australia-based Radian Arc today.

TM managing director and group chief executive Officer Amar Huzaimi Md Deris said the collaboration also ensures seamless and high-quality digital experiences for the company’s customers.

"This collaboration is in line with TM’s strategic roadmap towards becoming a digital powerhouse by 2030, aligning with our commitment to developing a converged ecosystem for digital transformation across all sectors and strengthening Malaysia’s competitiveness as a key digital hub for Southeast Asia,” he said.

The agreement was signed by TM global executive vice-president Khairul Liza Ibrahim and Radian Arc chief executive officer David Cook.

Minister of Communications Fahmi Fadzil and Radian Arc chairman Peter Christie witnessed the event.

TM Edge Gaming is a holistic edge gaming ecosystem that leverages TM’s edge facility deployment closer to the end user to provide a high-quality digital experience with low latency, in line with the evolution of 5G technology and beyond.

This agreement will feature Radian Arc’s GPU Edge technology bundled with low-latency SHAKS Gamepad controllers developed by Radian Arc’s South Korean-based partner, AKSys Co, enabling a seamless gaming experience and boosting TM Global’s capability to offer high-quality, real-time applications.

Amar said Edge Gaming enables gaming companies to process data locally and reduce the distance data needs to travel, reduces public internet congestion problems, greater loyalty and delivers a better quality of experience to the user.

Radian Arc is an infrastructure-as-a-service and data-as-a-service company that offers complete solutions to telecommunications companies worldwide, specialising in cloud gaming, graphic processing unit (GPU) and artificial intelligence (AI).

Fahmi is currently on a three-day working visit to South Korea.

The minister will deliver a keynote address at the GSMA Mobile 360 ​​APAC conference from Oct 1 to Oct 2. The conference will bring together representatives from mobile network operators worldwide.
