SETIA ALAM: Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) is reiterating its commitment to enhancing the economic wealth of bumiputra’s and Malaysians via its flagship financial literacy carnival, the Minggu Saham Amanah Malaysia (MSAM) 2024.

Group chairman Raja Tan Sri Arshad Raja Tun Uda said the annual event is a focal point of PNB’s sustainability framework social pillar, where the group continues to dedicate itself towards social investment in education, community upliftment, financial literacy and knowledge sharing initiatives.

In line with PNBs renewed purpose to uplift the financial lives of Malaysians across generations, this year’s MSAM was themed “Uplift your life at MSAM”.

“In the spirit of inclusivity, the MSAM reaches out to every corner of the nation, ensuring nobody is left behind.

“Everyone has the opportunity to be part of Malaysia’s growth story.

“Continuing our initiatives from previous years, elements of financial education and science, technology, engineering as well as mathematics will be our focus, to inspire the young to pursue knowledge and higher education,” he said during his opening speech during the MSAM 2024 Corporate Partners event here, yesterday.

With the involvement and support of PNB investee companies as corporate partners, Raja Arsyad said the organisation of the MSAM has been successfully realised for the past three years, even though the event had its inception back in April, 2000.

Corporate partners for the MSAM 2024 include Malayan Banking Bhd, SD Guthrie Bhd, Sime Darby Bhd, S P Setia Bhd, Sime Darby Property Bhd, Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd, MNRB Holdings Bhd, Duopharma Biotech Bhd and Projek Lintasan Kota Holdings Sdn Bhd.

The role of these corporate partners, who are major contributors to PNB’s source of income, will also be showcased to visitors.

“The role of each investee company is very important and highly valued in ensuring a smooth and structured organisation to achieve its objectives.

“The public can see for themselves the strength of the companies in which their money is invested through unit trusts managed by ASNB such as Amanah Saham Bumiputera and Amanah Saham Malaysia,” he added.

Visitors will have the opportunity to learn how returns earned through investments in these strategic companies are redistributed to unitholders in the form of income distribution.

Other than the usual financial literacy-related and knowledge-sharing activities, other propositions include complementary activities such as two mini music festivals, mini food fest and an auto fest.

The four-day event will run from Aug 22 to Aug 25, 2024.
