Nestle adds puff pastries to its plant-based offerings

The company expands its Harvest Gourmet brand product range.

PETALING JAYA: With the growing trend of plant-based products, Nestle Malaysia has expanded its Harvest Gourmet brand product range with the launch of Puff Pastries.

In a statement, the food and beverage giant said the “puffs are a delectable fusion of plant-protein goodness with gourmet pastry, perfect for those looking to indulge in a savoury snack without compromising on flavour.”

A recent 2023 survey by GlobalData revealed that 59% of Malaysians are keen to try plant-based foods for its health benefits, while nearly half are motivated by the environmental benefits of these more sustainable food options, it added.

The puff pastries are available in three Asian flavours: creamy curry puff, Korean gochujang puff, and oriental BBQ puff. Nestle Malaysia’s chief executive officer Juan Aranols said the group would continue to innovate to ensure that it launches products that are tasty and relevant to its consumers, while playing a positive role in supporting the transition to more sustainable diets.

“Nutrition is a huge part of maintaining one’s well-being and we are committed to supporting Malaysians in leading more health-conscious lives.

“This is also very much in line with Nestle Malaysia’s mission to actively contribute towards a more sustainable future for the planet,” he added.
