StanChart Saadiq Malaysia appoints Bilal Parvaiz as CEO

KUALA LUMPUR: Standard Chartered Saadiq Malaysia has appointed Bilal Parvaiz (pic) as its CEO from March 15, 2024, succeeding Mohd Suhaimi Abdul Hamid.

Bilal will be reporting to Mak Joon Nien, CEO of Standard Chartered Malaysia, and Khurram Hilal, CEO of group Islamic banking, Standard Chartered Saadiq.

According to Standard Chartered, Bilal joined Saadiq Malaysia in 2014 after completing his four-year career at Standard Chartered

Saadiq, UAE and was most recently the bank’s head of Islamic corporate, commercial and institutional nanking (CCIB) and the country champion for sustainable finance.

"With almost 20 years of specialisation in the global and local Islamic banking industry, Bilal is an established Islamic banker with a proven track record.

"His appointment is in line with the bank’s succession plan, and I am confident he will bring tremendous value to the bank with his strong leadership skills, deep industry knowledge and good rapport with clients," said Mak in a statement.

Mak also expressed the bank's gratitude to Mohd Suhaimi, who stepped down from his role to pursue other opportunities, for his contributions to Saadiq Malaysia.
