Ni Hsin delivers 50 EV bikes to USM

KUALA LUMPUR: Ni Hsin Group Bhd via its wholly-owned subsidiary Ni Hsin EV Tech Sdn Bhd has handed over 50 EBixon Bold electric motorcycles to Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) on behalf of Dongguan Tailing Electric Vehicle Co Ltd.

On Oct 16, 2023, Ni Hsin EV Tech had signed a collaboration-cum-donation agreement with USM, Focus Applied Technologies Sdn Bhd and Dongguan Tailing EV to promote electric mobility.

In a statement, the group said the agreement was to demonstrate the viability of existing electric two-wheelers to perform significant useful work in the Malaysian transport environment under the United Nations Environment (UNEP) Electric Mobility study taking place during the period 2023-2024.

The 50 units of EBixon Bold motorcycles were donated by Dongguan Tailing EV to various selected end users for a period of one year, during which time USM will conduct vehicle testing, tracking and data logging.

“We are delighted to have this opportunity to contribute to UNEP’s program to promote electric mobility, particularly 2 and 3 wheelers in Malaysia.

"This will enhance and encourage faster EV adoption among the public and aid the Malaysian government’s commitment to low carbon initiatives, as outlined in the National Low Carbon Cities 2030 plan,” said Ni Hsin EV tech Khoo Chee Kong.
