KUALA LUMPUR: Ekuiti Nasional Bhd’s (Ekuinas) ILTIZAM social impact platform unveiled 22 new artworks at the ‘Alir’ exhibition, marking the culmination of its ILTIZAM Seni Art Residency Programme (Cycle 3) at SARENG Gallery.
In a statement, Ekuinas said the exhibition features works from four emerging Bumiputera artists who completed the five-month residency, which focused on creative exploration and business acumen.
Chief executive officer Aliff Omar Mohamad said that ILTIZAM Seni is transforming the lives of passionate young creators by equipping them for a sustainable future.
“Through ILTIZAM Seni, we are not only advancing artistic excellence, but also instilling the resilience, discipline and entrepreneurial mindset needed to thrive in today’s evolving art ecosystem.
“The residency programme enables our young Bumiputera artists to map and build sustainable careers and participate meaningfully in Malaysia’s growing creative economy,” he added.
Ekuinas said this year’s programme featured a more focused approach with only four resident artists, enabling deeper mentorship and more personalised support.
The residency took place in Karak, Pahang, and aimed to transition fine arts graduates into professional creators by integrating creative and business skills.
Since its launch in 2023, ILTIZAM Seni has supported 21 emerging Bumiputera artists, generating over RM180,000 in sales from previous exhibitions.
The collaboration with SARENG Gallery has provided the artists with an opportunity to showcase and sell their work, while also learning about exhibition curation and sales processes.
“We invite collectors, industry players and the public to engage with these works, not only to discover new expressions, but to play a role in sustaining the next generation of Malaysian artists,” Aliff Omar said.
Cycle 3 artists – Aliff Danial (Selangor), Ammar Idris (Kedah), Mairul Malek (Sarawak), and Khairanee Iro (Penang) – each showcased their distinct artistic styles, exploring themes such as emotional landscapes, material experimentation, and everyday life.
The exhibition ‘Alir’ will be open to the public until May 16, 2026 at SARENG Gallery, Menara Chan, Kuala Lumpur.
