Pos Malaysia strengthens board with new appointments of industry veterans

KUALA LUMPUR: Pos Malaysia Bhd has appointed Datuk Shazril Imri Mokhtar and Datuk Abdul Halim Hamzah as non-independent non-executive directors, effective May 1, 2026.

In addition, Mano A/L Verabathran has been appointed as the alternate director to Abdul Halim.

“These appointments reinforce Pos Malaysia’s commitment to strengthening its board composition with seasoned leaders from the telecommunications, public service and transformation domains, in line with the group’s ongoing transformation journey,” the national post and parcel service provider said in a statement.

Imri has over 28 years of experience in telecommunications, strategy, and business transformation. He previously served as managing director/group CEO of Telekom Malaysia Bhd.

He has also held senior roles, including chief operating officer, executive vice president of Unifi, and leadership positions in strategy and performance management.

Meanwhile, Abdul Halim brings 30 years of public sector experience, specialising in governance, policy, and national administration.

He is currently the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Communications, a role he has held since Nov 24, 2025.

Previously, he served as Director-General of National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) and Deputy Secretary-General (Finance and Development) at the Prime Minister’s Department.

Mano, who returns as alternate director with over 30 years of civil service experience in telecommunications infrastructure, intergovernmental coordination, and policymaking.

He is currently Deputy Secretary-General (Telecommunications Infrastructure) at the Communications Ministry.

Previously, he held roles including Undersecretary of the International Division and Deputy Director-General at the Prime Minister’s Department.
