DRB-Hicom acquires new trucks to improve logistics

The collaboration between the industry giants and DHAS is poised to set new standards for vehicle leasing solutions in the region.

KUALA LUMPUR: DRB-Hicom units, Avis Malaysia, Automotive Corp Malaysia Sdn Bhd (ACM Isuzu) and DRB-Hicom Auto Solutions Sdn Bhd (DHAS), have entered into a strategic collaboration to provide innovative solutions in the automotive industry.

In a statement, Avis Malaysia said the three companies will leverage their synergy to enhance the fleet capabilities of DHAS with the delivery of five state-of-the-art Isuzu trucks that will boost the company’s transportation capabilities.

“This partnership signifies a new era in our commitment to providing tailored solutions for our clients.

“The Isuzu trucks handed over today are not just vehicles but represent a fusion of reliability, performance and innovation that will undoubtedly elevate the services provided by DHAS,” said Avis Malaysia chief operating officer Mohd Syahrul Yusuf.

Two units of the Isuzu Forward trucks were delivered during a handover ceremony in Batu Caves recently.

The Isuzu Forward, a versatile medium-duty truck, will be tasked with transporting motorcycles within DHAS’ network.

With a capacity to carry around 30 motorcycles, and renowned for its reliability and fuel efficiency, the Forward ensures a seamless and secure transport solution for motorcycles.

The remaining three vehicles, scheduled to be delivered in the first quarter of 2024, are Isuzu Giga heavy-duty trucks, and were selected for their superior load-carrying capacity.

With a length of 19.5m, each truck and its trailer can move between six and eight cars in a single load.

The prime movers will serve as dedicated car carriers within the DHAS fleet, enhancing its capacity to provide safe and efficient transportation of automobiles, the company said.

DHAS chief executive officer Fawzi Ahmad said the trucks will play a crucial role in expanding and diversifying the company’s services and ensuring the timely and secure transportation of motorcycles and cars within its network.

The collaboration between the industry giants and DHAS is poised to set new standards for vehicle leasing solutions in the region.

The occasion also marks the start of Avis Malaysia’s latest shift to diversify its portfolio of services.

The company now offers leasing solutions ranging from passenger and commercial vehicles to equipment and machinery. — Bernama
