Leader Energy inks MoU with BASF to develop long-duration energy storage projects


PETALING JAYA: Leader Energy Holding Bhd has signed a memorandum of understanding with Germany-based BASF Stationary Energy Storage GmbH to promote the development of long-duration energy storage (LDES) projects in South-East Asia including Malaysia.

In a statement, Leader Energy said it seeks to deliver comprehensive turnkey solutions for these projects and use NAS Batteries that will be supplied by BASF.

“Pursuant to this, Leader Energy has identified eight LDES projects with a total estimated value of RM1.8bil.

Leader Energy executive deputy chairman Datuk Sean H’ng Chun Hsiang said the collaboration will allow the group to leverage on each other’s skillset to penetrate further into the power industry within the region, while offering more comprehensive solutions that will make renewable energy a more reliable and viable option.
