Nor Shamsiah appointed to AIA board


PETALING JAYA: AIA Group Ltd has appointed former Bank Negara governor Tan Sri Nor Shamsiah Mohd Yunus as independent non-executive director and a member of the nomination committee of the company with effect from Sept 21, 2023.

Nor Shamsiah’s, 59, appointment is for a three-year term. She currently serves as the chancellor of the International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance University in Malaysia.

She has over 34 years of experience with the central bank and was appointed as deputy governor from November 2010 to June 2016 and governor from July 2018 to June 2023.

Nor Shamsiah has a Bachelor of Arts in Accountancy from the University of South Australia and she is a fellow of the CPA Australia and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.
