IBS grows steadily in the last 15 years, government usage at 84%

PETALING JAYA: The industrialised building system (IBS) in Malaysia has been growing steadily over the last 15 years supported by the Construction Industry Transformation Programme 2016-2020, the National Construction Policy 2021-2025 and Construction 4.0 Strategic Plan 2021-2025, the Construction Industry Development Board says.

Chief executive Datuk Ahmad Asri Abdul Hamid said the IBS implementation in government projects had increased to 84% in 2021 compared with 79.5% in 2020 whereas, in private projects, it had tremendously increased to 60% in 2021 compared with 41% in 2020.
