T7 Global appoints Tan as group CEO

PETALING JAYA: Energy solution provider T7 Global Bhd has appointed Tan Kay Zhuin as its new group chief executive officer, effective Sept 5.

Prior to this appointment and since 2018, Tan, who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, was the group chief operating officer (COO) of T7 Global.

With this appointment, Tan has been mandated to further enhance T7 Global’s synergies, business efficiencies and corporate governance to boost the group’s position as a highly respected, professionally managed organisation.

In a statement with regards to the appointment, Tan said his main objective now is to establish T7 Global’s position locally and globally.

“With that said, we have set a target of achieving an annual revenue of RM500mil in the coming years,” Tan said.

The group had reported a total revenue of RM264.35mil for its financial year 2021 (FY21) while in the first half of FY22, its revenue stood at RM114.94mil.

Prior to his stint with T7 Global, Tan had worked in several multinational corporations and exploration and production companies such as Technip, Toyo Engineering Corp and KrisEnergy Ltd.

In 2016, he joined Tanjung Offshore Services Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of T7 Global, as the head of offshore construction and maintenance.

T7 Global group chairman Datuk Seri Nik Norzrul Thani Hassan Thani expressed his confidence that the group is well positioned for continued success and sustainable growth under Tan’s leadership.

“We have the utmost confidence in him, having achieved many accomplishments such as transforming the group from an offshore maintenance services company to an integrated solutions provider in energy, aerospace and defence and infrastructure construction.

“Tan is instrumental in defining the success blueprint for the energy division. He has since improved the group’s order book to over RM2bil in the past three years as the group COO,” he added.

According to him, Tan played a part in several major contracts such as the Bayan Mobile Offshore Production Unit and also supported the success of T7 Global’s diversified business portfolio.
