Good support for GST comeback


KUALA LUMPUR: The Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers’ (FMM) latest survey of business conditions in the manufacturing sector showed that a majority of respondents favoured the reintroduction of the goods and services tax (GST) at a lower rate of 4%.

FMM president Tan Sri Soh Thian Lai said survey respondents felt that the GST is a “good broad-based tax and a majority of the industries (in the survey) would prefer its reintroduction.”
