Majuperak clarifies CEO's garden leave is based on mutual agreement

KUALA LUMPUR: Majuperak Holdings Bhd has clarified that the garden leave accorded to its outgoing group chief executive officer (CEO)-cum-executive director, Nizran Noordin is based on a mutual agreement between its board and Nizran himself.

Majuperak said Nizran’s leave would commence on Sept 2, 2022 to clear his leave balance before his contract ends on Oct 31, 2022.

"Nizran will be pursuing other interests after the expiry of his contract,” it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.

Yesterday, Majuperak, an indirect subsidiary of the Perak government, announced that its chief financial officer Syed Agil Syed Hashim will be appointed as acting group CEO during Nizran's absence.

Previously, Nizran had served as a private secretary to former Perak Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu, and was appointed as Majuperak group CEO on Nov 1, 2019. - Bernama
