Musa Abdul Malek appointed chairman of Affin Islamic Bank


KUALA LUMPUR: Affin Bank Bhd has appointed Musa Abdul Malek as the new chairman of Affin Islamic Bank Bhd.

In a statement, it said the appointment was effective June 22, 2022.

According to Affin Bank, Musa has been serving as an independend non-executive director of Affin Islamic Bank since Aug 1, 2019.

He has over 40 years of banking experience whereby he held various senior leadership positions in HSBC Group, Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd and CIMB Islamic Bank Bhd.

Musa had also previously served as an independent non-executive director of Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Bhd in 2017 before retiring in February 2019.

He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) from the University of Ohio, USA/MARA Institute Technology, Malaysia.
