PETALING JAYA: Japan-listed Taiyo Yuden Co Ltd will be injecting RM680mil to expand its multilayer ceramic capacitors manufacturing facility in Kuching, Sarawak, the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (Mida) announced.
In a statement, Mida said the investment through the company’s subsidiary, Taiyo Yuden (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd, was marked another milestone for Malaysia as the preferred hub for global manufacturers and an Asean gateway.
Mida said Taiyo Yuden’s expansion project was expected to generate extra 2,000 jobs. The Kuching facility is expected to be in operation by March 2023.
