Astro signs Netflix as new streaming partner


KUALA LUMPUR: Astro and Netflix have entered into a partnership that will see the streaming service brought on to Astro's platform.

The content providers announced in a joint statement that Astro customers will soon be able to access Netflix on their connected Ultra Boxes, first at launch, and subsequently on Ulti Boxes.

Accordingly, the partnership offers their Malaysian customers greater convenience by having Netflix with their Astro subscription, which will provide easy access for payment in a single bill at the best value.

"Our partnership with Netflix consolidates Astro’s position as the No.1 entertainment destination for Malaysians by offering the best streaming services alongside our own best-loved originals, vernacular signatures, live sports and local blockbuster movies,” said Astro group CEO Henry Tan.

Meanwhile, Netflix vice president for business development in Asia Pacific Tony Zameczkowski said the partnership will allow Netflix to bring a world-class multi-device entertainment experience to more Malaysians.
