KUALA LUMPUR: Affin Bank Bhd
's net earnings for the first quarter ended March 31, 2021, fell 44.21% to RM68.94mil from RM123.57mil in the previous corresponding quarter due to lower gains from treasury assets and additional provision overlays due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
It said in a statement that the weaker performance was cushioned by higher net interest income and income from the Islamic banking business.
