AirAsia sees ray of hope as vaccines rolled out, upbeat on RM2.5b fund raising


Tan Sri Tony Fernandes remains upbeat on the RM2.5bil fund-raising target. He said AirAsia has spent the travel downtime period to put in place rigorous digital initiatives and innovative technologies that would make air travel even safer and more seamless post-Covid-19.

KUALA LUMPUR: Low-cost carrier AirAsia sees a ray of hope for the resumption of air travel as Covid-19 vaccines start to be rolled out this week while its CEO Tan Sri Tony Fernandes remains upbeat on the RM2.5bil fund-raising target.

AirAsia, in a statement issued on Monday, said the rollout of the vaccines across Malaysia as the first key indicator of a global travel reboot in the near future.
