KUALA LUMPUR: Pharmaniaga Bhd is looking to expand its manufacturing business and grow its presence in international markets, especially Indonesia.
In a statement issued after the group’s AGM, Pharmaniaga acting managing director Mohamed Iqbal Abdul Rahman said the group was confident in its ability to capitalise on viable opportunities in the healthcare sector to achieve sustainable growth in the long run despite the current challenging business environment.
“Pharmaniaga plans to grow the business in areas such as manufacturing as well as prospects in terms of growing its presence in international markets, especially in Indonesia, ” he said.
Iqbal noted that many of its shareholders were keen to find out more about its halal vaccine project, which included the Covid-19 fill and finish.
“We will be making a separate announcement on this matter once we have firmed up the relevant details.
“Moving forward, we are projecting improved results in the coming years, particularly given the fact that we were able to complete the accelerated amortisation of PhIS in 2019, ” he added.
PhIS is an IT system that Pharmaniaga developed and managed to distribute drugs and medical supplies to Health Ministry facilities.
