Megat Najmuddin is SDP chairman effective today


Megat Najmuddin, 75, (pic) who holds a direct interest of 5,000 shares in SDP, currently holds chairmanship in a number of publicly listed and private companies as well as non-governmental organisations, including chairman of Asian Pac Holdings Bhd, SEG International Bhd, Green Venture Capital Sdn Bhd, Ulink Ascot Sdn Bhd and the Malaysian Institute of Management.

PETALING JAYA: Sime Darby Plantation Bhd (SDP) has named Tan Sri Megat Najmuddin Megat Khas as its new chairman, effective today.

In its filing with Bursa Malaysia, the plantation group said Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Othman has resigned as its chairman and board member.

SDP’s shares fell three sen to close at RM4.92 yesterday.
