Hong Leong Bank Vietnam unveils digital bank

PETALING JAYA: Hong Leong Bank Vietnam (HLBVN), a subsidiary of Hong Leong Bank Bhd (HLB), has launched its next-generation, customer-centric digital bank in Vietnam via its mobile banking platform, HLB Connect.

The platform enables customers to enjoy fee-free financial services and seamless e-voucher shopping.

HLB group managing director and chief executive officer Domenic Fuda (pic) said the group had been steadily growing its presence in Vietnam for the past decade and is now seizing the right opportunity to offer Vietnamese consumers an innovative digital-banking experience.

“Vietnam is a market primed for digital and mobile bank offerings, as only about 40% of Vietnam’s 95 million people have bank accounts while there are around 120 million mobile phone subscriptions, ” he said in a statement.

Fuda added that HLB Connect has the power to enable both greater financial inclusion and access to e-commerce to more Vietnamese on a single platform, while allowing HLBVN to deliver customer experience that is seamless, straight-through and offers superior value.

“By December, customers can shop and pay seamlessly for deals exclusively available on HLB Connect such as dining, spa and travel with some of the biggest brands in Vietnam, with more stores and deals to be constantly added based on customers’ preference, ” he said.
