Alibaba cloud launches 9 products to support global digital transformation

SINGAPORE: Alibaba Cloud, the cloud computing arm of China’s e-commerce powerhouse Alibaba Group, today launched a new suite of product offerings for the global market in the areas of cloud architecture, machine learning, internet of things (IOT) and security.

Derek Wang, Chief Solution Architect, Alibaba Cloud International said these products would meet the needs of the retail industry.

“These products all have specific features that meet an identified need within the flourishing retail market in the Asia Pacific region. E-commerce is witnessing considerable growth and Alibaba Cloud, leveraging on Alibaba Group’s development, can offer a mature ecosystem to support the regional retail sector.

“Using these products will help merchants deploy their resources more effectively, and gain deeper consumer insights,” he said at the Alibaba Cloud Summit held here today.

The technology available, according to Wang, can give consumers better protection against fraud and an improved shopping experience.

Wang said Alibaba Cloud is also poised to strengthen its collaboration with customers and partners across different industries with these new offerings.

The launch of the ASEAN Partner Alliance Programme was another highlight at the summit.

In a statement, Alibaba Cloud said the alliance aspires to develop a sustainable ecosystem to empower more technology vendors, service providers, system integrators, independent software vendors (ISVs) and start-ups to accelerate their digital transformation initiatives.

The programme aims to recruit 150 solution partners and to train 600 sales and technology personnel in the next 12 months to fuel growth in the ecosystem. - Bernama
