Maxis Q4 profit after tax up 14% to RM544m


Maxis CEO Morten Lundal said 2016 was a challenging yet good year for the group.

KUALA LUMPUR: Maxis Bhd's profit after tax (PAT)  rose 14% to RM544mil in the fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2016 from RM477mil a year ago as it continued to grow its revenue, profits and market share while for the financial year, PAT rose to nearly RM2bil.

Delivering a solid Q4, it said on Wednesday this was underpinned by a strong operational and financial performance, with high traction for its leading data services amidst challenging market conditions, which was also reflected in the financial year 2016.
